Ben Blackler, Navigator Marketing’s founder, has spent the past 20 years helping companies to grow through better marketing.
Ben started his career in travel and tourism, heading up marketing departments for TUI, Abercrombie & Kent and Black Tomato (going on lots of free holidays and winning a few marketing awards along the way.) Since founding Navigator Marketing, Ben has broadened his experience into the telecoms and B2B sectors, whilst maintaining a core of travel and tourism clients.
In a marketing world increasingly full of single discipline specialists, Ben is a rare generalist. His knowledge of all the elements of the marketing mix means he knows how to combine them to deliver the most cost effective results.
He maintains an expertise in customer-focused direct and email marketing, the area in which he started his marketing career, and is a strong advocate of the power of content marketing – something he was doing well before most had even heard of it! He’s also a believer in the marketing potential of great service, and has helped clients deliver expectation-busting customer service which has generated valuable word of mouth.
Ben’s worked for both big corporates and small startups and with budgets ranging from six zeros to one zero.
He’s a keen walker, a not so keen runner, enjoys a good book (mainly history or psychology – really!) and spends probably a little too much time fiddling with apps on his phone.
He is a graduate of Sheffield University, has a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing and is a Full Member of the Chartered Institute in Marketing. He lives in Cheltenham with his wife and 2 sons, but he can hop on a train or into the car and be just about anywhere you need him to be.
